What do other customers say
Victoria (Wells) – Andy cleaned all the inside and outside windows of my home to an excellent standard, we live right by a field and they regularly get dusty. I requested my previous window cleaner who just used water on a brush pole to clean my sills, but he never did and always left drips on them, some occasions there were smears and drips dried on the window glass. Andy uses traditional techniques to clean the windows in and out, outside he uses a pole to clean high windows, he did a fantastic job and I am happy to recommend his services. He is currently booked to complete some garden work.
Brit (Wells) – Thank you it looks really good, I will be recommending you.
Mike (Glastonbury) – Thanks for all the hard work Andy, windows look so much better!!
Kirsty (Wells) – Andy did a great job of cleaning our gutters, windows and doors, all of which hadn’t really been cleaned in nearly 6 years as I struggled to clean our velux and dormer windows myself. really pleased with his work you can tell he’s a hard worker determined to get the job done! Thank you
Maricel (Wells) – Absolutely amazing job cleaning our gutters and fascias! They look like new again. The work was done to such a high standard, and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. Really happy with the result and would definitely recommend them.
Chris (Wells) – Thank you very much, really happy with the results!
Becky (Glastonbury) – I just got home and honestly…. Amazing! The webs have gone!!! Thank you ever so much!.
Fran (Glastonbury) – Fantastic job outside, absolutely perfect.
Andy – Check out my own garden and ongoing projects.

🏠 Hourly Rates
Hourly rates are charged from £20.00 to £30.00 per hour.
The rate is charged based on the nature of the job whether it is light work, heavy work, easy access, tough access, location, single jobs or multiple jobs.
Hourly rates are not suitable for all work that may be required.
Time is calculated from arrival to completion of the agreed work and is rounded up to the nearest 15-minute interval (£5.00 to £7.50) to ensure fair and consistent pricing for all customers.
Where possible, an estimated duration will be provided before each visit.
What Does It Really Cost to Be Self-Employed?
What would you expect to earn per hour for your work?
The current National Living Wage for workers aged 21 and over is £12.71 per hour. As an employee, your wages are paid to you, and many of the costs associated with doing your job are covered by your employer. You generally only need to worry about deductions such as tax and National Insurance.
Being self-employed is very different.
When you hire a local independent business like Wise Oak Home & Garden, the hourly rate you pay doesn’t simply go into the business owner’s pocket. It has to cover a whole range of costs, including:
- Business insurance to protect the business and its customers.
- Equipment, maintenance and repairs to keep tools and machinery safe and working properly.
- Materials and supplies needed to complete your job.
- Waste disposal fees and the costs associated with removing green waste.
- Fuel, travel and vehicle expenses to get to and from your property and purchasing of materials.
- Payment processing fees and the time spent managing invoices and payments.
- Unpaid administration and marketing, including quoting, booking appointments and finding new customers.
- Late or unpaid invoices, which can leave the business covering costs without receiving payment.
- No paid holidays or sick pay, meaning time off can mean no income.
- Pension provision and financial security for the future.
- Tax and National Insurance, which must also be accounted for.
On top of all this, a self-employed business must earn enough to cover its own living costs, and make a reasonable profit to remain sustainable.
Supporting Your Local Independent Business
At Wise Oak Home & Garden, I believe in offering fair, honest and competitive prices while providing a reliable, personal service.
My prices reflect not just the time spent working at your property, but also the equipment, preparation, experience and business costs required to do the job properly.
When you support a small local business, you’re helping to keep a skilled, independent service available in your community.
Thank you for supporting Wise Oak Home & Garden.
